Tour: River Arts District Design Studios, Downtown, & RAMP Studios,
While the Student tour is happening, designers will meet for crazy drinks and scary hors d’oeuvres at Smoky Park Supper Club’s Boathouse - 350 Riverside Dr, Asheville, NC 28801 at 7pm. This covered, open air space that overlooks the French Broad River and offers fire pits, a great dance floor and of course plenty or room to mingle. Thank you to Smoky Park for Sponsoring the space! Members of the Asheville Design Salon and AIGA will join in a social with killer halloween music. The scary hors d’oeuvres are a pot luck so bring something or pick something up. Scared? Dress up! Ain’t Scared? Dress up! This event is for anyone who loves design. It is kid friendly.
AIGA is reaching out to college professors, students and high school seniors to join our creative community. The First Annual Trick or Treat Student Studio Tour begins at Cotton Mill Studios in the River Arts District 122 Riverside Dr. promptly at 5:30 at Diadala Cider for a those of tasting age. After touring the RAD, we will caravan (ie hop in the van or follow by car) to visiting local graphic design, advertising and photography studios in Asheville NC. Students get a taste of what Asheville offers for creative careers locally and make connections for future work, portfolio reviews and spring/summer internships. Each professional studio will show some work, their work space and provide a “treat” of some sort to take away.
