David is an award-winning filmmaker, commercial photographer and corporate storyteller with over two decades helping teams to think creatively, manifest opportunities and achieve their goals (www.thepeak1group.com).
He shoots photos for some really cool clients like the Folger Shakespeare Library and Sonic Automotive, educates 250,000 public sector employees on their annual health insurance benefits via video voiceovers, provides pro bono creative collateral to hard-working nonprofits like Friends of The Smokies and serves on the board of directors for Asheville Art Museum, Hendersonville Symphony Orchestra and AIGA Asheville.
As a photographer in residence, from 2017-2019, he told the visual story of the men and women who built the Asheville Art Museum’s new $24 million home. He has won an award or two (was a finalist in the inaugural Canon Imagin8tion Project with Ron Howard) and produced a movie based on stories his father wrote.
David is a graduate of the North Carolina Outward Bound School’s 45-Day Outdoor Leadership program (it rained most of the time!) and learned a thing or two about storytelling while receiving a masters in mythological studies and depth psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. David is a native of Maine and grew up in North Carolina. While work takes him across the country and around the world, he lives in Asheville, NC where he gets his creative mojo.
