Our chapter of AIGA is located in Asheville, NC, on the homelands of the Miccosukee, ᏣᎳᎫᏪᏘᏱ Tsalaguwetiyi (Cherokee, East), and S’atsoya (Yuchi) nations. We acknowledge that these tribal nations continue to thrive in this area.

As an ethical local chapter of a national design organization, it is our responsibility to recognize the sovereignty and traditional territories of these local tribal nations, the treaties used to remove them, and the histories of dispossession that have allowed for the growth of our organization since our local chapter was founded in 2019. Consistent with a general sense of native land ethics and commitment to community involvement, understanding the historical and current experiences of Native peoples in our local area helps inform the work we do as creatives every day.

Our chapter of AIGA intentionally honors and respects the many diverse indigenous people who came before us, who are still here, and who are connected to the land on which we reside.

Grab a drink, get to know community members, and hear behind-the-scenes insights and stories from our members. Join us every 3rd Thursday for a Creative Hangout.
