Marilyn Zapf is the Director of Programs and Curator at the Center for Craft, a national arts nonprofit headquartered in Asheville, North Carolina. Her exhibitions have traveled to the Renwick Gallery, Smithsonian Museum of American Art (Washington D.C) and the Mint Museum (Charlotte, NC), among others. Recently she was the project manager for a public art installation in downtown Asheville, North Carolina that honors Cherokee tradition and continuity in western North Carolina (forthcoming Fall 2022). She holds a MA in the History of Design from the Royal College of Art and Victoria and Albert Museum in London, England, and a BA English Literature and BFA Jewelry and Metalworking from The University of Georgia. Zapf is also the Treasurer and a Trustee of the American Craft Council.
